We are so proud to present the artists who will honour the Polar Music Prize Laureates, Nile Rodgers and Esa-Pekka Salonen, at the 2024 Polar Music Prize ceremony and banquet on May 21st. The event takes place at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm and will be broadcast live on TV4 Play, YouTube and TV4.
A spectacular line-up of artists and musicians will celebrate the Laureates’ music:
Peg Parnevik, Moonica Mac, Augustine, Janice, Kayo, Gladys del Pilar and Sharon Dyall will all perform tributes to Nile Rodgers’ long career as a songwriter and producer. Eva Dahlgren and Markus Maskuniitty will both perform for Esa-Pekka Salonen, as well as an octet with musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Emilia Hoving, one of Finland’s most acclaimed young conductors of today. Students from the Ingesund School of Music University of Karlstad and dancers from Base23 choreographed by Vera Prada will also perform during the evening, together with the Polar Music Prize band, led by Stefan Olsson.
Mezzo-soprano and journalist Boel Adler will be our host for the ceremony.
